Down

We just got back home from our little trip to Leavenworth (Washington) and I am feeling...well, blue! I never feel sad when we come home because I LOVE HOME! So, I'm kind of at a loss here! I was commenting on a friend's blog that part of it is missing our kids, and I think that is a BIG part of it! But they are in Oregon with their grandparents and we are here...so I will have to be patient and wait for Friday night, when they will come home!

I think part of it also is just the stress of life that comes right back into your life when you get home after a wonderful time away...uh, is our vacation really over? A half completed kitchen~ actually, more like a third finished!~ laundry, and...now that I'm listing this, it really doesn't seem all that monumental at all! But you know how when you feel a little down, everything seems so much worse than it really is? Yep, it's so true! And so I will do what I always do when the blues hit and make sure to get a good night's sleep...after saying a prayer that tomorrow will be a better day! It really just about has to be! :)

I hope your week is going well! :) Oh, and if you haven't read the post just under this one, please make sure to give me any advice on what you think about paneling vs. bead board! We went to Lowe's tonight and I still cannot decide!

Have a blessed night,

Sorry you're down in the dumps, I always get post holiday blues and I LOVE being at home too! I think it's just that reality hits you as soon as you walk through the door, plus it's worse for you as the kids aren't there yet! Chin up....XXX

Thanks for your comment. Yes I always feel flat too when I come home from holiday and it is always strange without the kids. I'm sure sleep helps though. Sometimes tiredness does affect our emotions and ability to cope.
Re your kitchen, I prefer the wider board but I suppose it does depend on the size of your kitchen. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Jen, what you are feeling is temporary, and you are right that after a good night sleep, things will look a lot brighter, so go ahead and rest and sleep the blues away!

I think after a good night's sleep and you start getting back into the swing of things at home, everything will look SO much better. I think mainly it is because your children aren't there. They will be home very soon so try to enjoy it while you can.♥

Aw, I understand completely. I hope your day today is much better. It's always tough getting home after a break because it's then playing catch up. We went away the other week and came home and immediately had to start school shopping and getting ready for school - such a whirlwind! It took me a week to unpack!

I'm glad you had a nice vacations:)

I ma the same way when I am away from my children! The house is too quiet!!!
I love the paneling idea!!! My mother had a house years ago full of dark paneling and we painted it and it changed the rooms so much plus was easy peasy to paint we did not even use primer!!! I love the beadborad but if you use paneling it will be so unique and I think maked the spaces look
larger!! Can't wait to see the end results!!!
((I'll say a special prayer that you feel chipper real soon:))!

Welcome back! I'm sorry you're so blue. It's very understandable. I was really down when I got back from Hawaii in June. Plus this awful weather doesn't help!
Your kids will be home in no time! :)
Enjoy these last 2 days with your hubby. Let's plan on getting together next week, if you're up for it!

(((hugs))) Don't feel blue. Perhaps it's just the feeling of being able to "slow down" again after being on the go, go, go. I know that's usually how I feel. I know you are missing your cubs, but use this time to enjoy alone time with your dear hubby and focus on each other...reconnect :0) I know I always enjoy the couple time hubbs and I can find...
Hugs again. You'll be okay.

Aw, sorry to hear you are having the "I just got home blues." I am having the "I can't leave my house blues because its too darn hot outside!" Ugh, I can't wait to move out of this dreadful state.

Amy S: Please send some rain my way and I'll send you some sunshine. Once the rain has arrived I'll put on my itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini that I wore for the very first time as I soak up all those wonderful little rain drops. Talk about a Southern Belle dreaming...

I'm so sorry you're down...hang in there! I think it's so hard to have the anticipation of a trip over more than anything. And all the the laundry that you have to catch up on.

That never helps either.

Thinking of you!

It happens to me every time!! I feel the same way after a vacation. Hope you feel better soon. I know you will!! It will just take a couple of days to get back into your groove.

I think the wide plank would look great, but I also like the beadboard. I say go with what ever is the easiest!! I have seen beadboard used on the sides of cabinets before and I think it looks great. We used it on our island/peninsula to hide some really ugly oak and also on the cabinet door fronts. We were going to use it on the sides of the upper cabinets but we ran out and I was to cheap and lazy to buy more.

Feel better soon Jenni!
