Okay, here I am with my kitchen almost *done...and here I also am second guessing myself. Again. So that is where I hope you might have an opinion that would help me make a decision! (And finish the project, which my family would really REALLY appreciate! :)
SO, here's the deal:
I originally intended to do a red and aqua color combination in our kitchen when I redid it...I was going to keep the yellow walls in the dining room and on the one wall that goes between our kitchen and dining room. I have covered the walls in the kitchen with bead board that I then painted white, and the lower half of the walls will have bead board in the dining room, and on that one long wall that connects the two rooms.
BUT, as I was working and things were coming along, I realized the yellow was not going to work in the kitchen, especially not on the bead board inside the upper cabinets. This is where, instead of aqua, I chose a pretty minty green...
I can't explain it, but it was the right color. So the color scheme changed to red and green with a lot of white, minus the yellow. I painted the half walls the same green, and have been second guessing myself ever since...
Do you like this color combination~
Or this better?
Do you think the cabinets would look better with this green on the bead board~
Or with a nice light aqua instead?
You see, green is always pretty...
It seems to adapt well to almost almost any color or decor you add to it.
But when I put my aqua bowls on the counter next to the cherries sugar canister, well, I really started to doubt my color choice. See how the colors pop!
However, there is one thing I do know for sure...at least I think I do! ;)
I have had a great deal of this red and white checked fabric for a couple of years now and am going to use it to make long panels for our kitchen slider (soon to be French doors) and our dining room window...
Well, that is all for me tonight! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far!

*Anything and everything is still subject to change, and is anything ever really "done" at my house? Uh, no. Mostly because I keep changing things...

Hi Jenni.
Oh I love the touches you have in your kitchen! I wish I could do beadboard in mine ... somewhere ... anywhere! :o)
I was curious if you could do both, the greens and the blues. I love both of the colors with the white and especially the reds. Is that a possibility?
I can't wait to see the results! :o)
Have a lovely day.
Trish
My vote is Aqua/Red...I have always loved red and aqua is my new fav! Good luck with the final details.
Blessings,
Linda
It all looks lovely!! I just love your family picture on your side bar!! xxx
I vote for the aqua. But either way it will look lovely! :)
My husband knows me, that I'm kind of famous for painting a room and stepping back and saying, "yeeeah, I really don't like this color after all." But usually once we do the second coat and give it a few days I'm happy with it, haha. It's just so hard to do big stuff like this that you want to be able to leave it that way for several (or many!) years!
Oh, what a difficult decision. There both beautiful combinations, I am leaning towards the aqua, but since you have already finished so much of the painting in mint if it was me I would probably just finish with it. Knowing you like I do, I bet you will start over with the aqua... = ) See you tomorrow!
Both would be adorable, but if I had to pick one I would choose the green. Love your fabric and accessories!
I like both color combinations, but since I've been to your house and have seen how much green you've already painted and how great it looks with the white, I'd stick with green. (Although I'm partial to green since my kitchen and bedroom have that color). Whatever you decide, I know it will end up looking beautiful!
Golly, I love them both... I don't know how you could go wrong. I'm taking all the yellow out of my kitchen too... I'm just tired of it.
Though I like both, If I had to pick one it would be the green and red. But I seriously like them both!
Have fun!

I think you need to do what you are happy with and not fear that it's forever -- because in the end, it's just paint and you can always repaint it of you decide it's not what you want. That being said, I think the aqua is the trend this year and for that reason alone, I would go with the green. (yes I am a rebel)
I am new to blogging and enjoyed reading through some of your posts today. I'll be back!

AQUA!!
And I love the red fabric. Can't wait to see it all come together.
Hi Jenni!! I think I would need to see a picture of your whole kitchen to help you out. I love aqua, but I think I would tire of it rather quickly, but that's just me. I'm tired of my blue kitchen already and it's only been a few months. I really love your blue bowls!! I think whatever you decide will look great!!
Hi Jenni....
I just stumbled upon your blog and am so happy I did! I, for one, LOVE aqua and red together, you are so right, it does POP!! I am currently in the process of redecorating my room in those too colors, and am considering them for my kitchen as well! Feel free to drop by my blog sometime! I am now your newest follower and cant wait to see the kitchen redo!!
Melinda
I would keep the green but then I'm more of a fan of earth tones. I think it all comes down to you being happy with it though.
Aqua! Just do it! :-)
