A Thanksgiving Day note

He Said, She Said...

Once upon a time, a young couple went to look at a house for sale. "It's been unloved, that's obvious, but we can fix that," she said, planning to fix everything right away. "I can't see anything here that can't be fixed," He agreed, thinking of all the money they would save by fixing things themselves, and planning to take one project at a time. And so the couple bought their first house, each greatly underestimating the work that lay ahead... For the girl, from a long lineage of die-hard Fix-Its, and the boy, a descendant of the Most Frugals had met their match...for turning this house into a home would be no easy feat.

Kitchen

~~- Remove old baseboard heater~~
~~- Replace old heater with a new (forced air) wall heater~~
~~-Remove old paneling from wall~~
- Replace old window with a new wood clad window
- Replace aluminum slider with French doors
~~- Remove popcorn from ceiling~~
~~- Remove florescent ceiling light; drywall it in~~
~~- Remove outdated chandelier~~
~~- Remove old light fixture above sink; drywall it in~~
~~- Rewire for recessed lighting and mini chandelier above sink~~
~~- Texture ceiling~~
~~- Prime/paint ceiling~~
~~- Prime/paint walls~~
~~- Remove half-wall between kitchen and dining room~~
~~- Add 10 inches to remaining half wall for "new" vintage stove~~
~~- Take out stove range hood and replace with ceiling fan~~
- Rewire vintage stove and replace stove top and oven elements
~~- Install apron/farmhouse sink~~
~~- Replace faucet~~
~~- Replace counter tops~~
~~- Put bead board on walls~~
~~- Put bead board inside and on sides of upper cabinets; sides of lower cabinets~~
- Add crown moulding ~~and cabinet trim~~
~~- Prime/~~paint cabinets inside and out
~~- Install moulding around door/window~~
~~- Install chair rail~~
- Put in wide plank hardwood floors
- Install baseboard moulding
- Sew a sink skirt
